Frank is trained at the Art Education department of the Hogeschool Holland Diemen and Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht.
After this, he joined the residency programme (1994-1995) of the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunst in Amsterdam.

Initially mainly working in drawing, he later took on building installations and photography.

Frank moved out of an active role in the arts and focused on developing and delivering art education.

For the last 10+ years, Frank has worked mainly in project management, contributing to significant business transformations.

But creativity and creating something are necessary; on an irregular basis, new work will emerge.

Frank lives in Amsterdam, is married and has two children.
